2015 Race Report

Another great day on the Squamish Whistler corridor. The 6th year running the Tenderfoot Boogie proved to be another day for new records--and you know I'm talking about temperature. The upper thirties was the norm of the day, although I have seen a photo of a thermometer measuring 40.6 Celsius.

One speed record was broken in the Female division 50 Miler by Jami Crego in a time of 9:39:38 edging out the previous record holder Rika Hatachi by more than 20 minutes. It looked like Jami didn't even brake a sweat coming through the finish line and she didn’t stick around long enough to collect her price (a bottle of wine) perhaps that is why she disappeared so fast.

Congratulations Jami, an excellent run especially under these conditions!

24 starters for the 50 milers is also a new record, with 4 DNF not unusual under this extreme temperatures. 50 km runners also survived the gruelling temperatures with only two runners DNF.

All 33 runners in the Lightning division finished very comfortable.

Also congratulations to the winner in the 13 km sprint Ineka Schuurman.

The River of Dreams right next to the Finish line in Meadow Park was certainly a hit for many runners cooling off their overheated bodies. We also are very thankful to have Physio and Acupuncturist Katherine Smyth on board with us, she kept pretty busy taking care of runners with all the cramping and other run related issues.

With the help of Tenderfoot Boogie friends a total of $250 will be donated to my friends in Nepal.

If you any photos you like to share please forward them full size to gottfried_grosser@shaw.ca.

All in all a great day and I hope to see you all next year at the latest and make sure you bring your friends.

Make sure you mark your calendars, June 25th, 2016!
