2010 Race Report

Just as daylight broke the 50 milers took off, almost missing the turn to the first trail. Luckily they were still within shouting distance, crisis averted!

The lead runner came through the first aid station at a blistering time of 1:05. As everyone finished the the first leg at the Fish Hatchery the day started to warm up.

The 50 km runners began here, starting with a relatively flat section followed by Cheackamus Canyon which awed the many first timers on the course. After surviving the gruelling road, the runners entered beautiful Brandywine Falls Park exiting to McGuire where the 25 km runners began their race at 9:00 AM.

The runners continued along the river into Function Junction and onto Sproat Trail which was perhaps even more punishing than the highway section.

The runners then made their way on the River Runs Through It Trail, finishing off on Valley Trail into Meadow Park; The sun still shining.

This being the first running of the Tenderfoot Boogie and almost nobody knowing the trails, most had no idea what to expect.

Hope everybody enjoyed the challenge and I would like to hear some feedback from the runners and volunteers to help make it a bigger better and enjoyable race next year.
